Most Certified Financial Planners® view financial planning as a series of strategies employed to help their clients achieve their goals. But when life-changing events like divorce, chronic illness or the death of spouse occur, difficult financial decisions need to be made at a time when emotions are raw and the situation is delicate.
As a Certified Financial Planner®, Wade Chessman helps people make smart choices about their money, especially those who are in transition from one stage in their life to the next. As part of this process, he helps them establish sufficient liquidity for their immediate needs and develop a spending plan so they can effectively manage their future cash flow and ultimately feel more comfortable knowing they have a plan for the future.
A Certified Financial Divorce Specialist™, Wade walks people who are ending their marriage through their financial options, and helps them set priorities to make the necessary hard choices before and after their divorce – including realistic lifestyle changes when necessary – to develop a workable settlement.
Prior to starting Chessman Wealth Strategies in 2004, Wade spent six years as paraplanner with Carter Financial Management, then five years with Edward Jones as a financial planner, both in Dallas.
Wade, who serves in the Financial Ministry at his church, is a member of the East Dallas Exchange Club, which assists underprivileged children in the Dallas area. In addition, he is a board member of The AKOLA Project, supporting the organization’s mission to equip women with vocational training, personal development and earned income to lift their families and communities out of extreme poverty.
A graduate of the Sam Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Wade serves on the Dallas-Fort Worth media team of the Financial Planning Association. He is a Certified Kingdom Advisor™, part of a community of Christian financial professionals dedicated to expanding the understanding of biblical financial principles.
Our Prime-Timer’s group was thoroughly pleased with Wade Chessman today. He gave an excellent presentation while competing with the waiter delivering orders and serving us. He covered the material very well and interacted with our members by answering questions affecting the entire group and also talking to individuals with certain situations.
A number of our members submitted forms containing their names and addresses so Wade could send them additional information. We would highly recommend him for other groups. – Kenneth Goddard, Prime-Timers – Resurrection Lutheran Church, Plano
