Topic: “What the Internet Doesn’t Tell You About Estate Planning and Probate”
Audience: Working and retired adults
Territory: Dallas/Fort Worth – Dallas (to I-35), Denton, Johnson, Parker and Tarrant counties

For Ross Tew, the journey to law school began when he was an art installer for galleries, museums, individuals, and corporate collections. Because their owners hadn’t properly prepared their estates, many of the pieces he handled were the subject of intense and extremely costly legal battles, an outcome he wanted to help other people avoid.

The Law Firm of Ross F. Tew, P.C. enables individuals and families throughout North Texas properly and effectively prepare their wills, develop their estate plans and probate their cases. The goal is, whenever possible, to have the legal issues involved with transferring a person’s assets to the rightful heirs be resolved with a minimum of difficulty. The firm also provides guardianship and estate administration services.

Before opening his law firm in 2013, Ross practiced estate planning, probate administration, family law, mediation and negotiation with the Bob Leonard Law Group in Fort Worth.

He had previously been a legal assistant to the independent executor of a large private estate in Dallas where he was involved in the inventory, titling, appraisal, care-taking and sale of estate assets and the resolution of liabilities.

Before that, Ross was a legal assistant with Scheef & Stone, LLP, where he was involved with estate planning, probate, and trust administration, including drafting probate pleadings, deeds, division orders and demand letters and corresponding with the IRS, trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives.

An art history graduate from Baylor University, Ross Tew earned his J.D. from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law) in 2012. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas County Bar Association, Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Probate Bar Association and the Association of Attorney Mediators.
