Since opening her practice in 2005, Lorie has provided a wide range of estate planning services, including wills, trusts for minors or adult children and special needs and living trusts, guardianships for children, tax planning trusts, living wills, powers of attorney and probate. She has a special affinity for families with young children and LGBT couples and families.
Lorie currently serves on the Lambda Legal Dallas Leadership Committee. From 2014-2016, Lorie served on the Black Tie Dinner Board, a charitable dinner board that raises money for local beneficiaries and the Human Rights Foundation, and served as the 2013-2014 National President for the Board of Directors of the American Business Women’s Association.
She is the past Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for the North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce and was formally the Co-Chair of the DFW Human Rights Campaign Steering Committee.
In 2013, Lorie was cited by the Dallas Business Journal as a Women in Business honoree, and was certified by The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce as an LGBTBE (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender Business Enterprise).
In 2010, she was chosen Woman of the Year by the Outlook Positive Express Network chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, and was named one of the Top Ten Business Women in ABWA’s national organization.
Lorie, who is licensed by the State Bars of Texas and Maryland, received her JD from George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC, and her B.A. in political science from Trinity University in San Antonio.
